My name is John Paisley. I’m based in Wells, Vermont — a small town where winters are long and the hobby keeps you sane. I’ve been collecting baseball cards since I was a kid, and somewhere along the way that passion turned into something I could share with other collectors.

Awakan LLC started because I got tired of buying from stores that treated cards like widgets — no context, no honesty about condition, no one who actually knew what they were selling. I wanted to build the store I always wished existed.

What We Carry

We stock over 4,000 baseball card products — from 1950s PSA-graded Hall of Famers to the newest Bowman Chrome prospects fresh out of the case. That means:

Every product is described accurately. If something has wear, we say so. If a card is a lower-grade example of a high-value piece, we price it accordingly. You’ll never get a surprise when you open the package.

Our Grading Partners

We carry cards graded by the most trusted names in the industry — PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator), SGC (Sportscard Guaranty), BGS/BVG (Beckett Grading Services), CGC, and CSG. Each graded card in our inventory includes the grading company, assigned grade, and certification number where available.

We don’t grade cards ourselves. Every grade on our listings comes directly from the slab — no inflated descriptions, no “NM-MT” claims on raw cards that look worse in person.
